move files
User Guide: Move pages via "Rename"
In this article you will learn the quick method to change the location of a file or page from one folder to another by editing its path. This feature also lets you create new folders on the fly.
Steps to follow
1. Locate the file: Go to the current folder where the document is. (Example: We open the "Sports" folder and find the file named "calendario After class").
2. Open edit (Rename): Click the option to edit or Rename the file. You will see that the file name includes the path of the folder where it is currently located.
3. Change the folder name: In the text field, delete the current folder name and type the destination folder name before the file name.
Initial state: deportes/calendario-after-class
Moved to: after-class/calendario-after-class
Note: Make sure you keep the correct structure (Folder name + Separator slash + File name).
4. Save changes: Click save/confirm. The file will disappear from the old folder and be moved to the new one automatically.
"On the fly" feature (Automatic creation)
This is the main advantage of this method: If you type the name of a folder that does not exist yet (for example, you type "New Projects/my-file"), the system will create that folder automatically and move the file there in one step. You do not need to go to "Create new folder" first.
