Aquila School: school website development & branding
How we redesigned Aquila School's digital presence to improve enrolment of new families and reflect its values of excellence and community.
The challenge
A website that did not reflect the school's quality
Aquila School came to us with an outdated site that was hard to update and failed to communicate the school's values or real quality. Interested families found confusing information, and the leadership team could take weeks to publish any update.
- Outdated, non-responsive design — poor experience on mobile
- No content management system accessible to the team
- Admissions information scattered and hard to find
- No downloadable digital prospectus for open day events
- Inconsistent branding between the website and printed materials
Structure & architecture
Clear information for every type of visitor
We organised the site around how families make decisions: from the first visit through to enrolment. Every section has a clear purpose and a clear next step.
- Content map built around the family enrolment journey
- Separate sections for Early Years, Primary, Secondary and Sixth Form
- Admissions area with integrated form and prospectus download
- News blog to keep the site active with school updates
Design & visual identity
An identity that communicates excellence and warmth
We refreshed the school's visual identity, respecting its history while updating the aesthetic to connect with today's families. Refreshed palette, readable typography and authentic photography from the school.
- New institutional colour palette with accessible contrast
- Corporate typeface for web, print and signage
- Brand guide with usage rules for the communications team
- High-quality editorial PDF prospectus
Content management
The team publishes without relying on developers
We implemented a CMS designed so the school's communications team can update news, events and pages independently, without any technical knowledge.
- Intuitive visual editor with real-time preview
- Ready-to-use news and events templates
- School calendar management integrated into the website
- Training included: 2-hour onboarding session with the team
Results
Measurable impact from the first term
We finally have a website that reflects who we are. Families tell us it was the first thing that convinced them to call us.Leadership team, Aquila School
